Children
Jesus said “suffer the little children to come unto me” (Mark 10:14). At Maranatha Baptist Church we believe children are very important. Our early years are when we learn things that we need for the rest of our lives. It is critical that children have a solid Biblical foundation. We have children’s Sunday School, Children’s Church on Sunday morning and Discovery Bible Club on Wednesday evening. Our Vacation Bible School in June is a great time for children to have a lot of fun while learning the Word of God.
Youth
We count it a privilege to work with teens since the choices they make now will affect the rest of their lives and determine what kind of person they will be. Our emphasis includes a ministry to parents on consistent godly living and a ministry to teens concerning the application of Biblical truth to life and modern issues. Many teens live with the mistaken opinion that the Bible is either not relevant or not sufficient to address the specific areas they struggle with. Today's youth must know what truth is, why it is truth and why it is worth seeking after. We offer a teen Sunday School class, weekly Teen Chapel on Wednesday evenings and monthly activities.
Ladies
We know that ladies need to spend time together and to encourage one another in the Lord. Titus 2:3-5 teaches that the elder women are to teach the younger. Our ladies meet together at a monthly activity, usually either breakfast on Saturday or lunch during the week. We also have a ladies activity during our annual Missions Conference, a Mother/Daughter Banquet in May and attend out of town ladies conferences or retreats.
Men
Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” We live in a day and age where manhood is mocked regularly. God made men and women differently. He did not make one to be superior over the other, but He did give men and women different roles. Men need to be men and be proud of it. And women need to be women and be proud of it.
Our men meet together during monthly activities such as prayer breakfasts, steak dinners, golf outings and fishing.
